Great stay at Casa Camper

We loved our stay, the location and staff were incredible. We loved the free snacks, coffee and soft drinks and the rooftop terrace was a great way to relax. Room was very nice. The best of all was the free wifi toggle that made navigating around Barcelona so easy

Great place to stay

Such a unique experience, this was one of Barcelona’s highlights for us. The hammock in the living room was a nice touch. The shower was amazing. You should definitely have breakfast at the hotel, it was delicious. Multiple choices including made to order food or simply pastries. If I end up in Barcelona again, this is where I’ll stay.

Fun and comfy hotel with great staff in a great part of Barcelona

Went to Barcelona in December 2024 with my wife and mother-in-law. We had two rooms. Each room has a bedroom and a living room area across the hall. The living room has a window with a view, a hammock, a sofa, a chair and a coffee table and a TV. The bedroom had a king bed with a really fun bathroom area; the sink area overlooks a brick wall with rows of plants; nobody can see in. The hotel has snacks (including sandwiches), coffee, water, and soft drinks available after breakfast is over for free, with a great sitting area. The hotel is modern and comfortable and quirky. The staff is spectacular! Highly recommend!

Great Hotel, but...

This is the fifth time we have stayed at Cosa Camper. This is a great hotel. The staff is most helpful. The location is great and the rooms and hotel are very clean and quiet. But there are noticeable changes. Breakfast is no longer included. They now charge $24 per person for what was always included. I am not sure that $48 per couple is worth the convenience of eating in the hotel. There are several restaurants nearby that offer breakfast for considerably less. The other change is Archy the bartender is no longer there. Aside from making great cocktails he also provided information about the hotel and the city. He is a big loss for the hotel.

Highly Recommend! Great Location!

Our stay at Casa Camper Barcelona was outstanding! The hotel’s location in the Gothic Quarter is perfect—within walking distance of major tourist attractions while also close to incredible, non-touristy culinary spots. The staff was exceptionally helpful, always ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. The hotel itself was spotless, beautifully designed, and offered a welcoming atmosphere. One of the standout features was their honor system for snacks and drinks, which was a unique and delightful touch. This level of hospitality truly sets Casa Camper apart. Highly recommended!

Awesome hotel in Barcelona

This hotel is rated #1 on TA for a reason. It is in an excellent central location, the rooms are large, quiet and well fitted out. If breakfast is included it is excellent value. Staff are helpful and friendly. Beds are comfortable, excellent water pressure in shower. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide some amenities - such as shower cap, cotton buds etc.

Cool modern hotel, warm gracious people & delicious hot food

Loved our stay at Casa Camper Barcelona! Stayed in Garden Suite. Perfect location close to La Rambla, great shopping, sites & dining nearby. We walked & biked EVERY WHERE (Gothic & Born districts, Beach, the Nord, Gaudi’s Casa Mila, la Sagrada Familia). Hotel is very modern and the staff is very nice & helpful. Enjoyed a wonderful hot breakfast daily, and complimentary fresh whole fruits, danishes, breads throughout the day. Would definitely stay here again!

Felt like our home in Barcelona!

Spent 3 nights in a corner suite and loved every minute of our stay! The room was perfect and has wonderful views of the street with the sound of birds chirping much of the time. The staff are all amazing - a special mention for Daniel who served us the delicious breakfast! We will definitely be returning soon.

Great stay Barcelona.

Wish there were a Casa Camper in every city. Everything was perfect from the reception and introductory tour, the dining area, breakfast and complimentary snacks, well-designed room with several sitting areas, great location near La Rambla with easy walk to major sites and transportation yet quiet. And most importantly an outstanding staff.

Great experience.

Hard to find a better location in Barcelona. Staff were amazing, rooms were spacious and well thought out, and value for money was great. Especially loved the large shower, separate toilet, hooks on the wall, and rooftop patio. Would absolutely return.

Great Hotel!

We stayed here for 2 nights during our recent 9 night trip to Spain. We love this hotel. Upon arriving, we were treated like royalty, with a personal tour of the first floor and of our room. And our room … they thought of everything. I could list probably 10 things in the room that are special and unique to make your stay comfortable. The view into the garden is amazing, and it is so cool to have a second room to lounge, just across the hall. Rooms are very quiet. Shower is amazing. Breakfast is great for variety and quality. Location is perfect for walking to see the sights. There is one small thing that could be improved … we were unable to locate an exhaust fan in the bathroom to allow steam to escape, so the entire room got a bit steamy during showers, and the floor got a bit moist from condensation. Overall we highly recommend!

Best experience ever

The staff at this hotel go out of their way to welcome you. They have advice on restaurants and will get you reservations as needed. The breakfast is spectacular. Most importantly, I left a travel jewelry box when I left for a cruise. They contacted me immediately and held it in the safe until we returned. Emilios YOU ROCK!!! Will definitely return for another fabulous experience.

Still good 10 years on

Back after 10 years, it was a thrill to find the place as good as ever.Lovely front desk staff,so helpful .The only change I noticed was the decline of the "free snacks" after midday.Used to include sandwiches and other goodies but now just breakfast leftovers of croissants and cake. Not an orange in sight in the land and season of oranges..Perhaps guests were taking advantage?Breakfast at Euro 25 is not a bargain although good. There's a lovely cafe around the corner serving a cafe/croissant for Euro 2.60.Elisabets. The roof terrace is a sun trap with an honesty bar.Great for recouperating after a hard day's sightseeing. The location remains quiet and funky with very little traffic.. I hope to return.

Fun boutique hotel close to Placa Catalunya and the Rambla.

Tucked away on a quiet street, but very close to all the action, this quirky hotel is sure to delight. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms and showers palatial, and the roof top terrace relaxed and peaceful. The restaurant downstairs serves a large buffet breakfast which was a little too pricey for us at 25 euros per person. But there is an excellent bakery very nearby where breakfast pastries are inexpensive and delicious. Taking them back to eat on the hotel roof top terrace worked well for us! Front desk staff was very helpful. We needed to mail home a suitcase of clothing and they priced the cost with a local shipper and also gave us directions to a close by post office where we could compare prices. Good metro connections from Placa Catalunya to all parts of Barcelona. The only reason I didn’t give full 5/5 points was the high cost of the room. But this may be typical for a nice hotel in a city the size of Barcelona.

Not quite as good as the other reviews say. Or maybe it’s just because we are English.

Positives: the rooms is huge! And clean. There are nice little touches like the slippers, robes and toiletries - shower gel, shampoo, handwash, conditioner and body lotion. The complimentary snacks and drinks are great. However, the prices at the honestly bar are quite ridiculous. Be aware the bar with the pool table is only open on certain days. Not so positives: Staff not so friendly - I emailed twice before our stay asking for help with restaurant recommendations - particularly as we arrived on Christmas Eve and we weren’t sure what would be open. On both occasions the response was poor. The email wasn’t replied to with any care or even responding to the actual questions asked. Breakfast staff were quite stroppy. Breakfast is served until 11:30 but everything was cleared away by 11:15 and I got an abrupt response when I asked for another coffee. The sofa bed in the room is creaky. Tbh for what we paid I think there are better places to stay. This place felt cold and impersonal.

Wonderful staff but tired rooms.

The location is hard to beat: incredibly central but still quiet. The staff is absolutely wonderful: friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. The place has great vibes overall and feels more homey than most hotels. So why only 3 stars? The rooms have clearly seen better days. Casa Camper is probably victim of its own popularity. I get that it’s hard to maintain pristine rooms with heavy visitors traffic, but the rooms are in dire need of a refresh. I upgraded to a suite and while the room was spacious and well laid out, and the bed itself was clean and comfortable, multiple other areas of the room felt a little gross (stained sofa, neglected shower heads, etc). Expected better given the high ranking on TripAdvisor. Perhaps the place was great 10 years ago, but in 2025 it feels rather worn out unfortunately and not so fresh or well maintained anymore.

Better hotels in the area than this one

This was a nice hotel, except for the side of town that it was on, located on a long dark alley. They always kept the doors locked. It had a major plumbing issue in that during the middle of the night if someone above you was using the sink or toilet, it rattled down the walls, waking you up the room was very clean. The bathroom was very nice. They offered breakfast but it was $25 per person and didn’t look like it was worth it. I think there are much better hotels in the area than this one.

Not worth the price. Great location

Would not go back! Was dirty and took away free muffins , coffee etc.. Staff is great, VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. Nickle and Dime for everything, want $25 for breakfast and nothing special. 2nd time there, last year was awesome, this year not so much. Changed everything.

Very disappointed - will not return with this being our 2nd stay since 2019!

My wife and I are terribly disappointed in the changes that have recently occurred at Casa Camper - Barcelona since our last stay in March 2019. Although the staff are most professional and helpful, with the physical characteristics and attributes of the hotel spotless and beautiful as we both fondly recall . . . we were embarrassed when we went downstairs in the morning for a cup of coffee and were told "no", since we had not purchased the breakfast option! We could only have a cup of coffee if we paid for it. Please note that (1) we have already paid 883 euro for a three night stay at Casa Camper and (2) there is no coffee/coffee maker in the room unlike all of the other similar/superior hotels we've stayed at on this most recent trip to Spain, Portugal and the UK. I do not wish to appear as a spoiled American that expects everything for free such as a free breakfast (as Casa Camper used to offer), but the requirement that one must purchase a cup of coffee when one cannot make same in their room is silly or "penny-wise and pound foolish". Life is too short and global economies remain too stressed post-Covid to impose such draconian rules on their customers. My wife and I will not return to this property nor recommend it to others.
